Gear Advice: Compass
Back To Packing List
While a compass is good to carry, it is better if you know how to use it! Many people carry one, but don’t really have a clue how to use it. North is that way, so what? Do you know where we came from? Do you know where we are going? Can you plot our location on the map? Before you plunk down good money on a fancy compass, learn how to use it. The orienteering merit badge is a good place to start. In the meantime, make sure someone on your team knows how to use one!
