Back To Packing List
Gear Advice: Books
Depending on where you are hiking, a good paperback book can help to pass the time if you are held up in a tent due to the weather. It is also enjoyable to sit under a tree after a day of hiking just to do some reading. Novels, Inspirational books, and guide books are all possibilities, but don’t forget to spend time exploring where you are at as well.
I carry the New Testament with Psalms & Proverbs that I received at Philmont. Something about reading the words of the creator when I am hiking through His creation is really inspiring.
